In 1989, on nearly 300 hectares, Robert Trent Jones was at ease designing the Moliets Golf Course. The talented architect was able to express himself between the pine forest and the dune where he laid down four holes, the Landes sesame. With 27 holes, the Forest associated with the Ocean as the reference course and the Airial, 9 holes perfect for beginners or to maintain one’s accuracy, tennis courts, covered greenset and clay tennis rooms, the resort looks great. Today, the site is home to the Golf Moliets Academy where all aspects of the game can be worked on, analysed and improved.
Between the seaside holes and those drawn in the pine forest, there is plenty to enjoy on a varied, technical and fun course. And very well maintained. As close as possible to the Atlantic rollers and the beach, the area is dune-like. From the 13th to the 16th, only the wind restricts the game. Between the pines, on the rest of the route, the narrow perspectives force you to play tightly to avoid the undergrowth and the famous Landes ferns. On the Forest, the Ocean and the Airial, the difference is often made near the flags. A pride of the greenkeeper, the speed of the greens!
In order to satisfy the ever-increasing number of visitors, improvements are made every year, such as the renovation of all the bunkers in 2021. Everyone is happy about this, players and gardeners alike. The proof is that Moliets attracts players in search of aesthetics, sporting golf and conviviality from spring onwards. You only have to look at the clubhouse terrace at lunchtime to be convinced…
