Par Claude Granveaud-Vallat
Since 1989, the Golf Collection d’Albi-Lasbordes, the work of Jérémy Pern and Jean Garaïalde, designed between the meanders of the Tarn, has completed the tourist panoply of the Occitan town.
Today, the route has taken on a beautiful patina between the woods, the plain, the castle, the water features and the river brought up by the barges. The work undertaken about ten years ago has given a new impetus to this course, to this club. The greens, tees and bunkers have been revised and sometimes redesigned. The drainage and pumping station have been modernised. Significant efforts, quickly noticed by members and visitors.
Along the Tarn, the game winds through the shade of large trees where birdie opportunities are real. Par 5s played slightly downhill – holes 7 and 13 – are the occasion. In the clearing, with Sainte-Cécile in sight, no less than four beautiful pieces of water come to thwart any eccentricity…
The putting of the 1 and the 16 or the approaches to the 4, the 10 and the 15 bear witness to this, where the holes lengthen and are surrounded by beautiful vegetation, a haven for fertile nests. Majestic, after a last flight over the pond, the 18th concludes on a vast and tortuous green. A beautiful finale, ideal to keep beautiful images in mind, once seated at the shaded table of the club-house. Where the flavours of the Occitan region are sublimated by the talent of the chef and his brigade.
